6 Days Rwanda Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking

DAY 1: Transfer from the Airport
A guide will pick you from the airport and drive you north of Rwanda to Volcanoes National Park viewing remarkable scenery of the Virunga Mountains en route. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Guest House (Budget) / Hotel La Palme (Deluxe) / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury).

 

DAY 2: Gorilla tracking.
Head to the park headquarters after your breakfast with packed lunch to be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas then proceed to track the gorillas. Dinner and overnight stay at Muhabura Guest House (Budget) / Hotel La Palme (Deluxe) / Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury).

 

DAY 3: Golden monkey tracking.
Enjoy your breakfast and head for yet another adventure of tracking the rare golden monkeys in the bamboo forest. Return to the lodge for lunch and leave for Kigali. Dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park.
Take your breakfast and drive to south western Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest national park. Enroute visit to Butare National Museum and Murambi genocide memorial museum. You will have a guided nature and go to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge (Luxury) / Peace guest house (Deluxe) / Gisakura gest house (Budget).

 

DAY 5: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
After early breakfast, proceed for chimpanzees tracking in the forest with the park rangers. Expect an encounter with other primates like colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, Red tailed and blue monkeys among others. Dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe forest lodge.

 

DAY 6: Departure
Have breakfast and drive to the airport for the scheduled flight back home.
